Post Total Thyroidectomy

by deedee1319, Jul 15, 2009 09:42PM
I have just had a total thyroidectomy.  My joints ache, i am having hot flashes, and numbness in my face.  Can someone please tell me if this is just something I have to get used to or if there are ways to help take these symptoms away.  Please tell me.

Thank you

Hi and welcome.  How long ago ?  HAve they done TSH blood draw yet?

If you are numb in your face you MUST call your doc ASAP .... you may be calcium deficient and that is numbness and tingling in face (lips, etc.)

PLEASE CALL your DR and let us know how you are doing ...

He may let you take Tums until he gets your bloodwork, etc.
