I had a total thyroidectomy two years ago after docs found several small tumors. Nothing left, thank God, but now I'm confused about my thyroid numbers.
I thought my endo told me that (something, I thought the T4T4 test) was supposed to be slightly high. When I went to him firstFirst progesterone mc10 First progesterone mc5 First-progesterone vgs 100 First-progesterone vgs 200 First-progesterone vgs 25 First-progesterone vgs 400 First-progesterone vgs 50 First-testosterone First-testosterone mc, about 18 months ago, my T4T4 test was 11.9 (normalNormal saline flush 4.5 - 12.5), my thyroglobulin anitbodies were 27 (range <20), my thyroglobulin was <0.2, TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh was 2.06 (range 0.4 - 5.5). The doctor increased my synthroid and when it was checked a couple of months later the T4 was 13.5, thyrglobulin anitbodies <20, thyroglobulin <0.2, TSH 0.03. He reduced my synthroid slightly after that and more after that, and now, several months later, the results are looking like the beginning: T4 9.3, thyr. anti. 20, thrygl <0.2, TSH 0.06. When I called to ask if he was going to increase my synthroid, the nurse (of course I'm not important enough to actually talk to him) said "No, the numbers are where he wants them." I asked about the T4 being lower and she said "The numbers are where he wants them."
Now, I'm not an idiot, and I felt totally dismissed and treated like a child. Apart from that, though, does anyone know where post-cancer numbers are supposed to be? I know it's important that the thyroglobulin is low, but I was under the (perhaps mistaken) impression that he was watching for the T4, but apparently not now (or is he just not taking enough time to look at this?).
Hello Momtoam! Your labs results look like mine. TSH 0.03 -is great. It should be inder 1 for thyca patiens. Thyrogl. looks good too . Mine is the same and endo said it is great. The only problem is we have Thyroglob. Antibodies and it makes great looking thyrogl. level not interpr. But my doctor saying it is does not matter. I hope it helps. I told you what my doctor said. They should decrease Syntroid in your case, not encrese. The best TSH range for us is around 0.1 How much Shynroid you taking. I am on 125 msg Levoxil.Love, Sveta
PS I am 9 month after TT and RAI due to thyca.
