Post thyroidectomy

I had a TT and removal of 1 PT  (11/18/10).  I had Hashimoto's for 20 yrs. and was taking 150mcg.   Since surgery the Dr's P.A. has lowered to 125, and now to 112 mcg.  I have tingling and numbness in my left arm, cold hands and feet and am extremely tired.  I am confused because the test results show low TSH (.008).  The P.A.  tells me that I am basically hyperthyroid.  Please explain why I have no thyroid and they are giving me less synthroid now.

TSH lags a while behind any dosage change. It is important to see what is happening with your Free T4 and Free T3 the FT4 will show if you are having too much or too little  thyroxine (medication) and the FT3 will show if it is being used properly.

It is likely you have developed low calcium which is common. The Corrected Calcium test can show this. Also do you know your Vit D levels? As sometimes low levels can also mimic hypo  and low calcium symptoms.

Do you have latest blood tests for thyroid, apart from the TSH?

Your TSH is very hyper....meaning you have too much thyroid hormone and they are trying to lower it.  Also, tingling in extremities could be a sign of hypocalcemia.  I have it and it can also cause tiredness and coldness in the hands and feet.  Have you had your ionized calcium checked since surgery?
