Pregnancy and Hypothyroidism

by Laurie905, Feb 15, 2008 11:19AM
I am 7 weeks pregnant and a recent thyroid test showed:  TSH 4.903 and T4 FREE at 1.25.  I am currently on 137 mcg of Levoxyl daily.   My concern is that although my numbers technically fall within a "normal" range (.350-5.5 for TSH and .89-1.76 for T4 FREE), I still wonder if  I need to be a little more aggressive with medication during pregnancy?  In my mind, I think I would feel more comfortable if my TSH were around 3-4 but my OBGYN says NO, that I'm fine.    Any suggestions?

I would keep an eye on your levels while pregnant, i.e., get blood work done frequently throughout pregnancy.  How are you feeling?  If you are ok now, then just be aware if you start to feel bad.
