OOOPs!
Correction: 'Treatment for hyperthyroidism is diagnosed at
TSH level 0.1 or less.'
Sorry about that! I had a Graves' Brain moment.
The iodine uptake is usually done in conjunction with blood tests and is done to diagnose thyroid function problems, such as hyperthyroidism caused by certain conditions as, inflammation of the thyroid gland (thyroiditis), recently taking too much thyroid medication, or another rare condition. However it can't tell how hyperthyroid a person is, only blood test can tell that. It can also show areas in the thyroid gland where the activity is less than expected (cold nodules) or more than expected (hot nodules). Cold nodules may be associated with thyroid cancer.
Your blood test might relate to other possible issues such as Hypothyroidism due to low pituitary function, adrenal fatigue or other problems such as allergies, hormonal imbalance, yeast, etc. The Uptake hopefully will reflect more on what your issues are, if there is any. Treatment for hyperthyroidism is diagnosed at THS 0.01 or less.
Good luck!
I don't know, but here is a bump back to page one so people will see it.
