Umm yes it will cause effects if your body needs it..
You will go severely Hypo and could lapse into Myexedema Coma and possibly die.
Why are you stopping Synthroid?

I decided to stop taking synthroid a few days ago as well do to the nasty side effects.  The doctor acted like I was crazy when I calleld and told him my heart rate is spiking and said it wasn't the meds. I didn't feel this way before the meds, and when I don't take them, I am fine.  I had my thryoid out a few weeks ago and really wish I hadn't agreed to the surgery.  Now my body is just completely messed up...and synthroid is going to give me a heart attack!

I say just from personal experience, synthroid does not seem to be a great drug.

heyoehkah-
If you have no thyroid or no thyroid function, you will die from the lack of thyroid hormone. It will take some weeks, but you cannot live without it.
Maybe you were started on too high a dose and your heart can't handle it. Or try another brand. You cannot live without a thyroid.

Tarabc-
Why do you want to stop the meds? You can try another brand or a different dose. What are your current levels?

That's not true. If it were, doctors wouldn't pull you off the drug for a month before radiation therapy....it would be too dangerous.

Besides that, I am so depressed, tired, and messed up now, I just frankly don't care anymore.

I would suggest the prior person talk to a good doctor about the problem before making any decisions.

I'm no expert but I think you have to get the drugs out of your system prior to radiation therapy and it takes a while.

True about the radiation, but that is for the short term. Eventually, you will need the med.

Before Radiation Therapy, you wouldve still had SOME function in the thyroid.
Now you have none.
Go see your Doc to see if the dosage is right.
As said, there are other T3/T4 meds othan than Synthroid.
If it is early days as you said after TT, you are most probably hypo and that is he// but does get better after the meds are in your system.
A trip to see your Doctor would be wise.
