RAI for scan - isolation from babies and puppies if only 3 millicuries?

Hi everyone,
I'm having a whole body scan a week from tomorrow, so just 3 millicuries on Monday the 22, and then back for the scan on Thursday Nov 25.  If it's just 3 millicuries, can I still be around puppies?  And babies?

I know I have to be on isolation if the scan isn't clear and they give me 100+ millicuries on Thursday - but what about Monday onwards while I'm waiting for the scan?

Anyone know the guidelines?  We have a year old dog who loves to be right beside me all the time.  My friend had TT and RAI 10+ years ago.  Her dog was 6 months old at the time, and she wasn't told to isolate herself from him - just from babies and other people.  He was with her during the isolation, and died almost a year later of a very rare form of cancer for dogs.  I don't want to risk my dog.

Thanks for the help!

Thank you so much!  I was so worried about our dog.  He'll be lonely, but he and my hubby can hang out and play for the 72 hours.  I will count down the hours until I can come home and play too!

I just can't wait to get through the next 10 days.  My endo doesn't believe in Thyrogen, so I'm going downhill fast.  Seems harder this time than last time, but I'm older.  :)

You should avoid contact with humans and animals for at least a full 72 hours. Animals absorb the radiation no differently than a human, so it is best to avoid your puppies as well.

Good luck with it!
