Hi,

this is normal.  My dr told me (and I have seen it written) that it is advised that as soon as a women knows she is pregnant she should increase her thyroid meds.

So the obvious answer is to increase your thyroid meds, which is what your Dr should be instructing you to do.

You should be monitoring your thyroid levels and increasing meds as required.

When I was pregnant (2 pregnancies), we increased my meds immediately I knew I was pregnant, and we also tested thyroid hormone every 4 weeks.  My dr also targeted FT4 during pregnancy to be at the very top of the reference range.  Typically I had to keep increasing thyroid meds until I was about 6 months pregnant.  After that the dose stayed the same until delivery.

Hope this helps.
