I was diagnosed with Papillary Cancer when half of my thyroid was removed on 10/17/07. One week later, the rest of my thyroid was removed, and about 5 weeks later I had RAI. Since then, we've been playing the game of regulating TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh. I was getting *close*.... got to .9 in July but it made my heart race; I was on 175 mcg Synthroid at that time, so they decreased it to 150. I just went for follow-up bloodwork and my TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh has jumped above 11. (I should've known... I've been feeling awful!) I was shocked that with a decrease of just 25 mcg, my TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh could climb so out of controlControl Control rx.
What is your thyroglobulin (Tg) level? If they haven't checked it, *insist* on it ASAP. That is your cancer marker. If your Tg is off (meaning there is still thyroid tissue or thyroid cancer) your TSH will be very, very difficult to control.
