Relief from Hives

I have been experiencing hives for 3 months and on 5 different antihistimines around the clock. Recently I had extended thyroid bloodwork and an ultra sound. I have been being treated with Syntheroid for 5+ years for borderline hypothyroidism. The results of the blood work confirm Hashimoto and my thyroid is "lumpy and bumpy" per my doctor. I have decided to have a biopsy on two nodules that are 1.5 and 1.1. The doctor just wants to to do a wait and see and recheck in 6 months.I am currently taking 88 mcg of Synthyroid. Is there anything else I can be doing to relieve the symptoms of hives as well as Hashimoto's such as constipation, intolerence to cold, depression, dry skin, etc etc? I am miserable!!!

What exactly is Hashimoto's disease and what are the symptoms? Is it difinititively diagnosed disease or do they diagnose with symptoms? A couple of your symptoms sound simlar to mine (sometimes) and I'm just really curious and want to know all about it. I've had thyriod problems for a couple of years but it only started to bother me recently so I'm trying to become educated. Thanks!
