I'm going to answer on your other thread where you have posted your labs as well.
Hi I had a Thyroid scan and doctor asked me to continue with 125 mg. The result are as follows. It confirm as hashimotos
grade I global thyromegaly with diffuse uniform isotope concentration
Global thyroid vascularity is augmented
Parotid thyroid ratio is thyroidal preference
findings are consistent with hashimotos thyroiditis on sub optimal thyroxin therapy
What does this means?
I reduced my weight, but I am not sure whether itis becaus eof hyper syndrome as I am doing yoga and walking 20 mmin now. Today I checked my bone density(I am checking for first time). it shows -1.25 and I am given as osteopenic, the normal range is greater than -1. right now I am taking 100mg as I saw my TSH is on very high side. I will be checking my FT3 and FT4 next week. I will post the numbers. Mean time I will check whether there is any possibility of getting the results from hospital. I am not sure whether I could be getting that, as in India it is really difficult to fetch the data. I will try and If I get I will post it. when I was on 100mg earlier I didnt feel any hypo syndromes, but I was overweight(Now also I am overweight).
It would be really helpful to see what your FT3 and FT4 were doing when you were on 100 mcg. Do you suppose you could call your doctor or the lab?
Your FT3 and FT4 are both high right now. I'd like to know if dropping your dose to 100 mcg really lowers your numbers enough to make you hypo.
Are you currently having any hyper symptoms? When you were on 100 mcg, were you having any hypo symptoms?
its been 3 months I am taking 125mg as 3 months before TSH was 5.6. I dont remember FT4 and FT3 as I was mentally very disturbed due to termination of pregnancy and I dont know where my results are. I remeber TSH as doctor said to increase the dose.(I terminated my pregnancy 3 months before). before that I was on 100 mg for around 2 months.
Your FT4 looks very high. Do you have hyper symptoms when it's that high?
TSH is nothing but a messenger from your pituitary (master endocrine gland) to your thyroid that tells it to produce more thyroid hormone. Since TSH is a pituitary hormone, it's an indirect measure of thyroid status. So, you have to concentrate more on your FT3 and FT4 levels. Those are what give you symptoms. If you change dose based on TSH, you will probably be on a rollercoaster, as you have seen.
I'm assuming that TSH is 0.001, FT4 is 27.9 and FT3 is 5.73 after taking 125 mcg for a while? How long? What were your labs (FT3, FT4 and TSH) when you were on 100 mcg?
My FT4 is 27.9 where as the range given is 10-22. And my TSH is .001. This is my last result which I got previous week. after that I didnt check. My TSH level is highlt fluctuating. When I take 100mg TSH is going up after 2 months or so. when I am taking 125 mg it is going very low. This is my problem. so how can I stabilize my TSH level?
Your FT3 looks good. It's well up into the top half of the range. Did they test FT4? What's your TSH now?
I believe it's not the antibodies that can cause developmental defects, but the mother's hypothyroidism. You have to have enough thyroid hormone to share with your baby.
My FT3 is 5.73 where as the reference range is 3.1 - 6.8pmol/L. I am bit overweight(I am 57.4 where as my height is 152cm).But my periods seems to be regular(though there are 1 or 2 days changes). Right now I enrolled for yoga and I am walking 20-30 minutes to my office. sometimes I feel so tired.
I heard that anti bodies can cause neural defects to babies. I already had an experience as I had to terminate my baby because of anencaphaly. I am in so much pain that I cannot take another incident like this. I am ready to do anything to get a healthy baby. Kindly let me know what medication/diet change/exercise plan/treatment I need to take
Your TPOab is considerably elevated, so it looks like you do have Hashi's. Hashi's is ultimately hypo, but in the early stages, it can be hyper or swing from hypo to hyper.
Right now, it looks like you are on too much medication. Your FT4 is above range. What was your actual FT3 result and range?
Do you have any thyroid symptoms, either hypo or hyper?
You should be concerned about getting pregnant. You want your thyroid hormones to be well controlled before getting pregnant. The antibodies aren't as much of a concern. Many women who have Hashi's have successful pregnancies, and your antibodies are actually pretty low compared to what most of us have. However, especially during the first trimester, your baby will be depending on your thyroid hormones.
The reference given is >5 and <35 for previous two report where I got 97. But for the current one with reading 92.9 they have given as <5.61.
Yes I am testing Free T3 and free T4 also Free T3 is in Normal range, but free T4 is 27.9 where as the range should be between 10 and 22.
I am really concerened about being pregnant now.
What's the reference range on your TPOab? Ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report.
Is your doctor testing FREE T3 (FT3) and FREE T4 (FT4) in addition to TSH? If so, please post those with reference ranges as well.
