Hello,
I got the results of my ultrasound, and was wondering if anyone can help me understand, or help ease my mind any.. Your time is appreciated very much.
Results:
Findings: The right lobe of the thyroid gland measures 5.8 x 1.7 x 2.2 CM in size. There is a complex cystic and solid well circumscribed nodule in the mid to upper aspect of the right lobe measuring 13 x 12 x 8MM in size. Peripheral increased color flow is noted. A second hypoechoic 10 x 8MM nodule in the inferior medial aspect of the right lobe is present as well.
The left lobe of the thyroid gland measures 5.4 x 1.6 x2.1CM in size. Isoechoic 8 x 8MM nodule in the mid medial left lobe is present. Color flow evaluation is unremarkable.
Impression:
There is a 13 x 12MM solid and cystic well-circumscribed nodule in the right lobe of the thyroid gland. Increased blood flow in the periphery of the nodule is noted. Given these findings, biopsy is recommended for further evaluation. Alternatively, 9 to 12 month followup could also be performed to evaluate stability.
My doctor also did blood work today of thyroid, that includes Free T3 and Free T4 and thyroid antibodies, and they are referring me to an ENT specialist for biopsy. But I was wondering, is there anything here that indicates I can relax at all? Or is this most likely Thyca?
Thanks,
Miguel
