Scared

Hi, I am a 40 year old female who in the last year has been diagnosed with Hashimotos.  I have been on thyroid medicine for the last 15 years, but in the last year my thyroid has been out of control.  I have also had a lot of muscle weakness in my thighs and and upper arms.  My Dr. has been doing a CK test on me for the last six months, it has gone from 167 to 323 to being normal for a few months, and just recently it went back up to 264.  I started to see a new Endo and he told me that I had ALS.  Being freaked out, I had to go and see a Doctor at Cedars Sinai who specializes in ALS.  After a two hour visit, she was 99.8% sure I do not have ALS.  Can Hashimotos cause weakness in the wrists/hands?  I developed these symptoms after my doctor visit.  I do not go to the Endo who told me I had ALS, I think that was totaly unprofessional.  My last lab my TSH was 4.53 (normal being .04 - 4.0) the Endo told me there is no reason why my tsh being so low that I should have an elevated CK of 264.  I have also seen a Neurologist who did an EMG on me, which was normal.

I am scared that they are going to all of a sudden tell me, oh we are sorry but you do have ALS.  I also have extreme high Anxiety.  Can anxiety and Hashimotos cause these symptoms?

Please help!

See this link about CPK levels and hypothyroidism.

Your TSH is still too high. For a person on relplacement meds, it should be about 0.5 or 1.0 to 2 or 2.5.
I had muscle weakness in legs and arms at a TSH of 6.0. Once I was on 50 mcg dose and my TSH dropped to 1.89- it's all gone!

Anxiety can be a symptom as well- I had it and now it too is gone! Many others here will attest to it.
