Should I get blood tests seperate FT3 FT$ done every two weeks to build some

numbers?

I have a mess of test without correct testing done.
My increase from 100 to 125 levo is now 112 mcg because of swing to manic from hyperthyroid.
I do not have Endo until June 9 , but will ask new PCP dr To do tests.

What test exactly should I ask for and what is the antibodies issues? Can we test for antibodies?

Still stuck in hypothyroid and terrified of taking increase because of weekend breakdown after 2 weeks on increased dose.
Also afraid to just take 100 mcg levo because yesterday it got ne hyper to the degree I needed support from my team and not taking that 100 this am because body seems to be reacting to it badly.
Another question, if I am making any sense at this point, is can someone hypo for many months on 100 leveo all the sudden not be able to handle the levo increase because...? Maybe the need for T# med? Feels almost like an allergic reaction.
Hanging on tight.
Thanks all for your posts, have been peeking around everywhere.

Also you may want to strongly consider changing medication to Tirosint.  This is a T4 but is a liquidgel cap.  So there are no dyes or other fillers and is said to be hypoallergenic.  Some people who have sensitivity to dyes or fillers etc have found Tirosint to work well for them. So it may be worth a try.

Also because it is a gelcap, many people also found that absorption of the T4 medication is higher.

Something to consider talking with your Dr about.

Adrenal testing is a good idea.  If possible, ask for a 24-hour saliva test.  However, be aware that many doctors don't like saliva testing, so you might get some resistance.

Keep an eye on your BP and HR.  If those go up, you might have to see a doctor sooner.

It does take time to get well.  The longer you were hypo, the longer recovery can be.  Hope you feel better today.

Thanks, how would I know if need hospital?
Went a month ago because got so dehydrated I could not get back.

Test stuff now know, thanks.
I was going to ask for an adrenal test, if I can?

I took an 88 this am and still got , more of a hypomanic, yet still speedy confused and still exhausted, nausea, dry eyes hot/cold issues, everything hypo/hyper, like both mixed.

I cannot take the 112 mcg because it is pink!
I have gone back to 88, not sure how long I will stay there, then will do 100 ( does used for couple years) I will get at least one baseline before june 9th. Still trying to get in sooner.

Guess should remember have been sick long time and will take long time to get well, so maybe even more gentle with self.
( I at least did a spell ck but my posts are bad, bad)

All tablets of levo (brand name and generic) are color coded according to dosage.  So, even if you stay within the same brand, there IS a difference in the dyes used.  For example, my 75 mcg Levoxyls were purple, and my 88s are green.  So, if nothing else, the dyes change.

Requesting the same manufacturer will not resolve the issue when a dose (and therefore dye) change is involved.

Differnt manufacturers use different dye's and fillers.

It seems like the change in your appears to have occured when you switched from 100 to 125 mcg.  My question is did the manufactuerer change with that switch.  If so, then the manufactuerer of the 125 could have used a filler or dye that you are allergic or sensitive to.  So it may have more to do with the non active ingredients and fillers that are used rather than the dosage.  If the manufacturer changed, you may have to request to get the same manufacturer that you had for the 100 mcg to also be the same for the 125.

Also some people are sensitive to dosage changes,  And going from 100 to 125 may have been too big a jump for you.  It was not clear to me if you are still having these issues with the 112 mcg dosage. And again the whole idea of the manufacturer comes into play.

So you may want to go to your pharmicist and look at the records as to what manufacturer you have been using from the 100 to 125 and 112 mcg dosages to see if this is a factor.

Often times the pharmacy when prescribed a "generic" rather than a brand name will simply fill the prescription with whatever manufacturer they have on hand. As the active ingredient T4 is the same and the dosage is the same I don't think they are required to even inform the patient that there has been a change in manufactuer. So you'd never know unless you ask!

The fillers and dyes can also affect the absorption rate. So you may be a poor absorber of one manufacturer and a super absorber on another, which could cause you to go hyper due to the additional absorption rate.

Just some additional things to consider.

What I'm saying is the levo tablets contain dyes, and some people are sensitive or allergic to the dyes.

Ask for FREE T3, FREE T4 and TSH.  Make sure they do NOT order "TSH with reflex to FT4", because what that means is that if TSH is 'normal', they don't run FT4.

Don't hesitate to go to the ER if you feel you need to.  June is a long way off...

Yes, I know but since no doctor and after two weeks at 125 getting manic I cannot take that risk again. I say go back to 88 get test w/new dr for the Free Ts then adreals.
I mweant I try not to eat any artifical color, no red dye # 2

I just woke, I am so sick.
Weak, nausous, eyes just dry ( for many months) legs sarting to hurt muscles and joints.
Still can hardly write
I have been sick awhile, not sure when it wet off.

Can you explain the exact way I need to ask for the tests?
I though just freeT3 Freet3, but read other stuff and if a reason my TSH isin range they kick out the T4, without test.

I you or some ones can tell me how to ask dr, I think she will surely first do the test correct.

sooooo super tireeeeeed of being sick and exhausted.

I don't understand, "...I eat real color."

I forgot that you don't have a thyroid.  Since your thyroid was removed, you do not need to be tested for antibodies.  Graves' and Hashi's are both irrelevant without a thyroid.

It's a good idea to check adrenals.  If adrenals are off, it's usually almost impossible to regulate thyroid meds.

Is there something wrong with your sight?

After every dose change, you have to wait 4-5 weeks before retesting.  It takes that long for the dose to change your levels completely.

Thanks both, so yes, about the fillers and binders  color forget it, I eat real color.

So but the manic creeped up over two weeks, going toooooo far, (still as we spek, how long to get down?)
SORRY, OK SO

I had a doc in boston but may not have been check for has or graves but I have no thyroid now, 4 year ago.
I want my adrenals checked if possible, I had a great healer teacher friend that said adrenals bit think replacement is wicked animal something?

I just want to get through so I do not los sight and end up too close to the respectable edge.

Did not take sat, sun, then mon took my old 100, monday increased in intensity and I used all my wellness tool box and them some, to day woke up with a start and have had to use sedation.

Whewww

I have to choose my self for two weeks before new PCP and want as many tests done correctly as soon as makes sense,
I need new baseline
then every two weeks go from say my old 88 mcg for 2 weeks then test, then back to 100 mcg for two weeks and test until we learn or June 9th comes. and then

I know
My brain fog is more like am I crazy?
Probably a 2-3 month recover but will feel something in 4-6 weeks after Endochro Boston!

My problem is thyroid resistance. Looks to be due to inflammatory cytokines from insulin resistance at the very least. Drama~! :)

Do you know if you have Hashi's?  If you haven't had antibody testing, it's a simple blood test for TPOab and TGab.

You could be having an allergic reaction to the fillers in the 125 mcg tablets.  The different doses are all color coded and therefore contain different dyes.  You've been on the same brand 100 mcg tablets for a while now, correct?

"Conversion - Stress, depression, malnutrition, obesity, excessive exercise, iron deficiency, illness, and exposure to toxins and plastics can decrease conversion of T4 to T3, leading to reduced tissue and cellular thyroid levels. T3 or T3-containing medication is beneficial. "
sounds like me!
