Side effects from RAI treatment

About seven years ago I had Graves disease. I developed a goiter and my eye protruded as well. The doctor then gave me RAI treatment, the goiter went away and my eyes did retract somewhat. However, now I have hypothyroidism in which from my many doctors they say I have a normal TSH. About the range of 2.0. What I have never ask or been told, is when i rec'd the radation treatment did it deplete a lot of my nutrients and minerals in my body. In which might need to be replaced? Reason I ask is because I only have limited amount of energy on a daily basis and once I by mistake found a vitamin supplement that was for energy and it had many minearals and just about every vitamin. Once I took it I never felt so good in years, however the company EAS just happen to discontinue the supplement. I was just wondering if RAI treatment does in fact deplete mineral and nutruients in the body. And if you might know of a natural supplement that would give me energy. i feel bad on a daily babsis and that energy vitamin made me feel the best I felt in years.
Thank you for any info.

I took some things while I was going Hypo for RAI and found them to be a lot of help.  I took siberian Gensing (for energy) and Dandilion root (for water retension) from concentrates, and Yerba Mate tea.  The Yerba Mate tea is so good for energy, and not the typical "hyper" energy you get from coffee or tea, it was more "mind-clearing" - like.  I was drowned out when I offered these before in the forum as most believed them to be of the "placebo effect" type of help.  But I was feeling good and I stand by them as very useful!  I would also offer the B vitimins as life changing for me.  I try to take a B50 (it has all the "b's") everyday.  Good luck!

No, RAI does not do this, however Graves' does. Once Graves' always Graves'. And Graves' has its own symptoms, such as energy and/or fatigue. Much like hyper symptoms. I still put out so much energy I have to take cat naps to rejuvinate, sometime napping off and on all day. But it beats being lethargic.

I take  vitamins and mineral separate from each other, in separate pills, which is very expensive.  However I can regulate dose to fit my health needs, not just  thyroid/Graves'. If I would take all of then in just one pill, the pill size would be as big as a golf ball or bigger.

The best I can suggest is, get yourself a good nutritional, vitamin/mineral, health book that deals in health conditions.
