Soy will block the absorption of thyroid hormones for the body - whether on thyroid meds or natural function.
Look into Vit K - and or St John's wort to protect your thyroid function.
I was worried because I take a soy supplement daily to help me with my perimenopause symptoms. Now I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the recent slowing of my thyroid. I have never been diagnosed with hypothyroid before. Something to look into. Thank you so much for your post.
This is some info i was given by a member on the Forum when i asked the same ?
in recent times it is thought that soy is not good for the thyroid, can result in temporary discomfort in the thyroid itself (inflames with pain) and sometimes thyroid symptom return for a short time. Many here report this, but may be rare, I doubt it affects the majority. Kind of like some with Graves will mention see food (fish and plant type) will increase hyper feeling. It most likely depends how far your thyroid is 'shot' to begin with. I dont know if this is just the effects with autoimmune thyroid issues or even just basic hypo thyroid.
