Stitches above eye

At the end of Aug, I got hit with a softball pretty good, and had to get 6 stitches, I got them taken out a week later. There is redness and a bump that is getting bigger over time, and it hurts all the time, and stings every now and then. Can some one please tell me what this means???? Do I need to get it checked?

Since this is a thyroid forum, I'd wonder if your question has anything to do with a thyroid condition.
