Suffering to no avail

It is HORRIBLE.  There is another gal this board that has the same problem.  Its a no win situation.  If we dont take any thyroid we suffer with hypothyroidism.  If we take any type of thyroid (and we have tried all of them) it almost puts us in a septic shock.  We have tried .15, .25, 37.5  and even .50 of every known thyroid.  The more we take the worse we get.  If we are on thyroid it is almost impossible to function.  Exactly 5 hours after we take the thyroid regardless of what it is, our body almost has a mini stroke.  Heart races for about 4 hours, shakey, horrible horrible electricity feeling in one ear, hands go numb, nausea, irritable like you would not believe.  There is nothing to do but cry and pray until it passes.

If we do not take anything, we are exhausted, shakey, back hurts, sweaty, ears have tinnitus, feet hurt etc.

Always with an electrical feeling in one ear.

All of our hormones are within range (t3, t4, tsh).

We have had every single test known to mankind.  In fact I had a brain scan yesterday just to make sure (my third one this year) it was not something else.

It gets worse every day.  It is not from out of ranges, wrong meds,

I went to the mayo clinic and they couldnt figure it out.

People keep saying that if we keep taking the meds it will get better.  Its now been 8 weeks and every day it gets worse.  the more saturated with just a little bit of meds we are, the worst off we are.  People take 125, 137 and even 200mcg of thyroid and feel great.  We get near the stuff and we have the worst reaction you can imagine.

There is also another girl that posted on a texas board that has the same problem.

Waking up in the morning is the worst as well.  If i am on any type of thyroid, its like waking up drugged or drunk.  Its horrible.

has anyone ever heard of this?

I can relate to you so much. When my doc increased my levo from 125 to 137 about eight weeks ago I felt absolutely horrible. Every morning the tinnitus was so loud and i had nausea, couldnt bare to walk on my feet when i got outta bed. I agree with you sometimes i thought i would have a stroke and just sit and pray that those feelings would pass. For some reason , these last five days things have seemed to improve. My anxiety and panic attacks arent as bad and the tinnitus isnt so loud in the morning. But, every night before bed i pray that in the morning i will be ok. I am so sorry for the way you are feeling too. I just so much want you to know that you arent alone which i know isnt much consellation to you when you are the one feeling those horrible symptoms. I dont understand why some people can just take their thyroid meds and do fine but i have never been one of those.
