Greetings Thyroid Community.

I'm currently trying to get a thyroid dx.  I've had numerous tests done, neck ultrasound (two nodules), thyroid scan (abnormal, but don't have results), in-depth blood work for thyroid studies.  Blood work not back yet, have a f/u appt with PCP on 8/5; appt with Endocrinologist on 8/21.  Dx with HTN in 2006.  I think I've been symptomatic of hyperthyroid for a few years, but TSH level in 2006 and 2008 within normal limits as defined by the lab.  A little on the high side of normal.  I'm on Toprol XL for HTN and palpatations, started in 2006.  I'm getting a bit anxious  having to wait long for these appointments.  I 'feel' one of the nodules in my neck because it's uncomfortable to swallow.  I'm not having difficulty swallowing, and can still eat, it's just uncomfortable.

OMG, AR-10!  You really said it best!  I don't think there's anything I could possibly add to that.

Good Luck Twilton... it seems that diagnosing and treating thyroid disorders "correctly" is usually not top priority (or so it seems) with doctors (even endocrinologists).

But welcome and ask as many questions as you can.

Welcome to the wonderful world of thyroids.

Want a test? We can do that next month!
Want more tests? Why? Because you do? GET OFF THE INTERNET!

How about we wait three months and then we'll run some tests to see if we need to run some tests. Are you sure you're not just imagining this? I have lunch coming in fifteen minutes. Could we discuss this in six months?
