Synthroid

Is there another non-generic for synthroid?  It does not work for me.  I was taking a pill that was not round and believe it worked better, levoxyl (sp?)  Are these the same or is one preferred over the other?  I have such exhaustion it becomes difficult to do anything.

Thank you for the information.  I guess my reaction was just the opposite of blsdnsvd, I had levoxyl and thought I felt better than I do now on Synthroid.  Right now I'm exhausted all the time.  Going to see my GP today for bloodwork.  Thanks again for the help.

I started off with levoxyl and ended up with synthroid because i was complaining of extreme exhaustion and it helped me. Instead of being exhausted all the time, it occurs mainly in the late afternoon/evening. Everyone reacts differently to med's,

It is Levoxyl.  They are the same drug, but manufactured by different companies.  BTW, I am told that their shape is supposed to represent a little thyroid gland???...some imagination required.

I believe they are equivalent, but my endo feels that Levoxyl is "a superior product".  Although the active ingredients in both are the same (T4), different manufacturerers use different fillers or binders, and these sometimes cause side effects.  If you do well on one brand, it's always best to stick with it.

Do you have current labs and reference ranges to post?  It sounds like you might need a dosageincrease.
