I need some help. I have been diagnosed with Severe Clinical Depression since 1995. I havfe gone through several different types of anti-depressants, and now I am on Celexa (40mg). About 2 months ago, I was diagnosed as also being Hypo-Thyroid and am on 150mcg of Synthroid. Now it seems my emotions are all over the place!!! Like my depression is getting worse even though I feel better from the Synthroid. Has this happened to anyone else? And does ANYONE have any suggestions???????/
Most likely the result of your depression is because your level of thyroid function is still off.
Most doctors will miss the appropriate Dx of hypothyroidism and leave it to a Dx if depression instead. It's sometimes a vicious cycle to get proper treatment
I would encourage you to re evaluate your depression as a possiblity of continued hypothyroidism and get treated appropriately.
