This is a very old thread, so I doubt your comments will get much attention here. It would be good if you would start a new thread, listing your issues, along with current lab results and reference ranges. Reference ranges vary from lab to lab, so must come from your own report.
Being able to see your labs, along with your symptoms, will help members better assess your situation and comment more fully.
Wow! My doc has me on Synthroid, 100's. Been on it about a year now. I have had heart palpitations, shortness of breath, hair loss and dizziness too! But the doc says, "You'll have more energy, feel less tired, and maybe lose some weight". I didn't have a low energy level to begin with, I slept fine at night and I don't need naps, and never lost any weight.
Doc says I have anxiety issues and wanted to put me on Zoloft. I blame the Synthroid. I said no to the Zoloft and told him I was going to stop taking the Synthroid. I just quit taking it this week, so I will have to let you know how it goes as time goes on.
My sister also takes Synthroid, a very high dose since her thyroid was killed due to over activity. She also has major "panic attacks". Not exactly sure when hers started, but I'm wondering if it's the Synthroid for her as well.
Hi guys
Thanks so much for your input. I am going to go tomorrow and pick up a copy of my labs.
I'll post them when I get them
Thanks again
Is there any cancer involved .. #'s for TSH based on Cancer Supression or was it a TT and looking for "normal" TSH levels.
My Endo is great she wants the #'s to be the best possible but wants my QUALITY OF LIFE to be the best possible, too so now I juggle 88 and 100mcgs certain days of the week and so far seems to be working for me!
Do you know what your lab results are? Can you post them ? It may help us give you some suggestions ? Also, history may help too.
C~
If you are feeling the smyptoms it may be that the levels your doctor considers normal may not be normal for your body. Ask your doc if you can do an alternating dose, many on this forum do that and it is much better for them. Always Get a copy of your labs so you can make a note of how you felt at this level- and review it with your doc.
If this doc isn't listening to you & how you feel then it may be time to switch doctors.
god bless- teresa
Not everyone functions best at a certain level, it needs to be where you feel the best. Tell your dr over until she gets it or find new dr. Most of them don't like to listen. Just a sad fact. Hang in there until you find someone who will listen!
