THYROID LEVEL NORMS WHILE ON SYNTHROID
26 YEARS AGO i HAD HYPERTHROID...i HAD SURGERY TO REMOVE MOST OF MY THYROID.fOR A FEW YEARS I WAS ON SYNTHROID.I was taken off..because blood tests reveiled I didnt require it anylonger.I have been off for years,no problems.Reciently my levels came back border line so my DR put me back on 75 mg.Its been a bout 3 to 4 months.aBOUT HALF WAY THU THAT I began noticing my hair strands everywhere...and my hair feels like straw,AND MY SCALP TINGELS ALOT.MY levels are 4.6 TSH 10.5 T4 2.8 T3...ON .75 SYNTHROID.
i AM THINKING ABOUT STOPPING THE MEDS AND RETESTING...and seeing if hair goes back to normal...Any suggestions

This was on .75
As I write this my scalp in tingling...My hair has turned to straw...and im loosong so much hair strands every where.I have been on meds since april.The hair loss and tingling began so I noticed in aug.

Don't stop your meds without your doctors knowledge and approval!
You need to go up to the next med. dose which should bring the TSH lower. Retest in 6 weeks and keep upping to the next dose, then to the next - one dose up at a time, so as not to over shoot goal, which would be a TSH of 1.0. See how you feel, then go from there. Get copies of your test with Labs reference range, keep a diary on the back of each one as to how you feel at that particular levels and meds dose. This should help with what direction to go in, if it is needed, once you reach TSH of 1.0. This thyroid is a lot of work to find health again, so be patient and take your time - it will hopefully pay off in the end. Good luck and Good health!

TSH TO HIGH MENS HYPER???Im confused.And the other levels what do u think about them.And why the strange hait texture and hair loss.I am so lost about what to do.
Your TSH now suggests that you are hypo not hyper and that your dose of synthyroid is not enough. Your hair loss/texture are typical of hypothyroidism.
