Below upper lab limit is normal. What that number is varies from lab to lab.
Above lab limit could be anywhere from 11 to 61. Below 100 is above lab limit, but it does not automatically mean a thyroid problem. TPOab can be found in low numbers (but above lab limit) in several autoimmune conditions.
Above 100 usually indicates an autoimmune thyroid condition.
Above 300 indicates damage is occurring.
Above 1,000 means you've got an autoimmune thyroid problem that is not going away.
Those are all generalizations, but it gives you a feel for what the numbers mean.
The higher the number, the faster damage can occur. A TPOab of 1,200 is not uncommon if you have an autoimmune thyroid problem. It's high, but it's not uncommon. Some people test with results of 2,000 or 3,000, which is not good.
The 'upper limit' is 35 I believe+/-1.
