TSH, 3rd Generation 1.18 T4, FREE .8 Ref 0.8-1.8

Am new here.  Have been reading through threads all day.  I am not sure if my questions have been asked before as hypothyroidism seems to be a very complicated disease.  I think I have every symptom of hypothroidism and have been trying to figure out if I have it or not.  My mother has had hypothyroidism since her 30s (now 65).
TSH, 3RD GENERATION 1.18 REFERENCE .4-4.50
T4, FREE .8 REFERENCE .8-1.8
T3, TOTAL 110 REFERENCE 76-181
THYROID PANEL
  T3 UPTAKE 26 REFERENCE 22-35
  T4 (THYROXINE), TOTAL 8.9 REFERENCE 4.5-12.5
  FREE T4 INDEX (T7) 2.3 REFERENCE 1.4-3.8
My main question is can you have hypothyroidism with normal TSH and low/normal T4, FREE?  Would taking medication help symptoms?

They did not do a test on my Free T3.  I just received my Anti-nuclear antibody test results and it came back positive.  I have been suspecting Hashimoto's and feel with this test being positive that that should confirm it.  My doctor doesn't work on fridays and only comes in sometimes and was told she may call me back.  I had to call the office for my results.  I am hoping she calls me back and has some recommendation.  (Meds?)

Thank you so much TamraW!  My doctor had ordered an "Anitnuclear antibody" test.  Not sure if this is the same thing.  I am still waiting for those results.

Even if you don't end up having Hashi, I still think with your low frees, you would benefit from meds. Ask your doctor for a trial dose. What can it hurt when your numbers are low?

YES!

I have Hashimoto's hypothyroidism and my TSH has been 2.69/2.74. Your FT4 of 0.8 is low. I have an FT4 of 0.8. Your threes are on the low side as well. TSH is a pituitary hormone and not always a reliable indicator of what is happening with the thyroid.

My Hashi antibodies are 221 (over 35 is out of range). Request Hashimoto antibodies tests (Anti-TPO and TGab). That is a common cause of hypothyroidism.

My mom has been hypo all her life. I asked her if she has ever had a doctor tell her she has Hashi's. She said no. I took her to a doctor and we did the bloodwork and found out she has Hashimoto's. She's 75 and just learned this. Not that it makes a huge difference. Hypo and Hashi are treated with the same meds. It just helped me make more sense of why this is happening to me, since Hashi can be hereditary.
