Is .01 a dangerous number for TSH?

This discussion is related to 'Normal' TSH ?  LOW TSH and Heart Problems/ HIGH TSH and Heart Disease.

Dangerous is a bit hard to define.

A TSH of .01 means a person is hyperthyroid enough that they probably have heart irregularities and other symptoms. The symptoms are temporary if the condition is treated and not ignored.

TSH is a hormone that tells your thyroid how much thyroid hormones to produce. When your TSH is low, it means your thyroid has produced too much hormones. That alters your metabolism, and if left untreated it can cause many changes to your body that are not desireable.

With a TSH of .01, the biggest risk is having an episode of tachacardia that may require a trip to the emergency room to stop, and then you would be put on a beta blocker.

If you already have heart problems, it could be more serious.

It is not healthy. How dangerous it is depends on various factors.
