Thank you. I need all the support I can get!
Make sure you ask for these tests:
TSH
Free T3
Free T4
Thyroid anti-bodies (there are two kinds, make sure you get tested for both)
adrenal hormones (cortisol and DHEA)
testing for anemia (complete blood count and ferritin)
B-12
Don't leave until you get the doctor to order ALL of them. That will give you much more information to go on. And don't just take your doctor's word if he says the values are normal, find a decent Web site and check for yourself.
Just remember that your health is ultimately your responsibility. You know better than anyone else how you're feeling. You're the one in charge, make sure the doctor knows that.
I have an appointment Monday so I hope and Pray to GOD that my Dr. will find what is going on. Does anyone have any tips on talking to a Dr and amking sure they listen.
Really, any TSH over a 2 is likely abnormal.
Once my TSH dropped below 2, I felt a lot better. Less muscle twitches and dizziness, less tired.
You need repeat TSH and as stated above, thyroid antibodies and free t3/4.
I just have so many symptoms. I know I don't feel right.
headaches
weight gain
hoarse voice
oily face
dry skin
joint pain
muscle twitches
light sensitive
sleepy......
Your TSH is high enough for you to have symptoms (hypo). You must go to an ENDO and ask for more analyses like: TSH, free T3, free T4 and antibodies (TPO and anti-Tg).
I have symptoms with TSH 2.9. With TSH 3.5 I felt so bad, some people feel great with this values. Normal American range for TSH is (0.3 - 3, not sure exact numbers).
Sorry.... But no one is paying .....
