I am a 65 yr old male. I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism about 10 years ago and have been on Levothroid .125mcg since then. I've been doing fine on that dosage up until several weeks ago when I went to my PCP about ringingTinnitus in my earsEar barotrauma Ear discharge Ear emergencies Ear examination Ear tube insertion Ear tube insertion - series that started all of a sudden and not feeling 100%. Since It had been 2 years since my last physical, he had my blood work done. The results were my TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh level was 9.0, and increased my Levothroid dosage to .150mcg. My Dr. mentioned the ringingTinnitus in my ears and my other symptoms (feeling cold and shivering, muscle spasms in extremities, ringing in both ears, some hoarseness, some weight gain, some uneasiness on my feet, and in general not feeling really great) were due to my high TSH levels. I’ve been on this dosage for 15 days now. I'm going in today for another blood test see where I stand with my Thyroid levels. I understand it my take a month before symptoms start to improve. The real annonce is the ringing in my ears. Is this a common complaint with patience with hypothyroidism? Can I expect to see this and my other symptoms start to diminish has my TSH levels lower to that optimal level of 1.0 or so. Thanks Dr. Lipo for your time and any help you can give me. Regards
