TSH levels low and pregnant

by rnairr, Jan 22, 2008 02:17PM
I am posting this question for my wife who is 23 weeks pregnant.  She had a blood test today and doctor suspects she has hyperthyroidism.  Her TSH level is 0.14, t3 is 189 ng/dl, T4-9.74 ug/dl.  We do not have a history of thyroid and she had delivered our first baby 5 yrs back without any problem.

We are really worried about our baby.  Lot of articles in internet mentions the baby brain development might be affected due to maternal thyroid issues.  Is this true ?    We are worried that we couldn't detect this the whole 23 weeks. Is it too late to start medication ?
