I feel great too- my tsh is almost 0 and I am on 250mcg of synthroid. I guess everyone is different and reacts differently.
WOW, that sounds really scary. My BP tested at 112/65 and 75 pulse. I'm on 150mcg of Synthroid. I really can't explain why I can feel so fine at such a low level when everybody else I talk to had problems. I actually expected by BP to go up. Odd. Even my sister who is Hypo can't stand her numbers so low. I guess time will tell to see if I continue to feel good at this level. My doctor said 6 weeks was not enough time for my body to fully adjust to my current med level.
For me the palpitations felt like my heart was beating out of my chest and it felt like I was skipping beats (confirmed by EKG). I was short of breath, felt like I was having a panic attack, and my chest and arm (left) hurt. I also had a low-grade fever and headache. When I finally went to the ER my BP was very high (don't remember the exact numbers but the diastolic was 111 - something around 160/111. I kept telling them "thyroid storm" and they confirmed it with labs. My TSH was 0.06. Beta blockers for about two months (and lowering my dose from 200 to 175mcg of Synthroid) solved the problem. I also monitored my BP whenever I felt a headache, palpitations, etc.
Not fun!! Keep an eye on it.
Thanks amela321. That makes it official then since you both said the same thing. I feel much better now.
I guess I'll know what palpitations are when I feel them huh?
As Utahmomma said, they probably won't check your Tg until 6 months after the RAI. I agree with her that 0.04 is great as far as keeping the cancer at bay, but could be a bit on the low side, so do watch for the symptoms she listed above. I know when mine was down to .03, I experience palpitations and had to be put on beta blockers as well. They are still dinking around trying to figure out a correct dose for me.
Good luck to you!
Thanks Utahmomma, you continue to be a fabulous support person.
Usually it is about 6 months after your RAI before your Tg is checked. Your TSH looks great - just watch for signs of heart palpitations, shortness of breath, fever, etc. as that could be a sign that your TSH is getting too low. I know that when mine went to 0.06 I started experiencing those symptoms (early thyroid storm) and had to be put on beta blockers and have my Synthroid dose lowered.
