TT and 1 1/2 months later regrowth

I am 27 and had a TT without rai and in less than two months later I have a large mass on my right side of my neck. I have had an ultrasound and a ct scan. Ultrasound said unlikely to be residual thyroid tissue. The ct scan said likely to be thyroid tissue. Has anyone heard of it growing so fast? I know that people have it grow back after many years but to me this seems too fast. I am taking my meds as docs orders and they have upped my dose but the lump keeps growing.
I had a TT due to an enlarged thyroid. It was determined to be just a goiter and nothing serouise. If anyone has heard of it growth this fast please comment.

In order to determine what is this mass is made of the following  has to be known:
a) what was the intital reason for TT?
b) does this mass move up during swallowing?
c) does it have internal blood flow?
d) does it absorb I-123 of Tc-99?

I had a thyroid that was four times the size causing breathing and swallowing issues. It does move up and down but has been proven through ultrasound and ct that it is not a cyst. It does have internal blood flow. And not sure inn the last question

If it moves during swallowing it originated from the thyroid capsule; the the radioactive scan (the last question) can be used to check if it is thyroid tissue (the thyroid tissue will take up iodine). This test should be the next.
One of the reason thyroid tissue grows is the presence of TSI antibodies (even if levels are normal);
what other test have you had BEFORE your thyroid was removed  (antibodies, radio-iodine uptake scan) what did the pre-surgery ultrasound said? and the most recent one?

Wow, I am having some issues like this also. I had a TT in 2006 and recently I also had a partial hysterectomy. Seems that since the hysterectomy I am suddenly having that feel in my neck that where my thyroid was is starting to swell again. Then sometimes is feels like it goes back down. Just like mine was before I had it out. I had some Cortisone shots today in my back for back problems and I noticed it made it swell up again. Sorry, I am rambling but I am thinking I have residual tissue also that is growing again. Best of luck with yours also.

I had a TT in Oct with and it was determined that the goiter was folicular variant papillary carcinoma.  Now 2 months later I am showing a 4 cm thyroid growth on the right side.  After preparing for RAI by going off thyroid meds for several weeks my TSH level is only 10 and the oncologist is baffled.  They are giving me an injection to get my levels higher.  This is all very frustrating.  But I thought it would help to know you are not alone.
