TT and weight gain???

I am seeing my endo for the first time on Thursday.  I have a hard 3.7 CM nodule that came back as Follicular neoplasm.  I am 28 years old, female.  I am going to assume they will remove it?

If they do, will I gain weight drastically?  It seems to be the norm. I am already at 212.  I had always been thin when I was younger and up to two years ago.  I was at 171. I am 5 foot 9. ):  I was kinda unrealistically hoping if they remove it the weight would fall off. (I know sill) (I do workout daily and I eat semi healthy. (not going to lie, I like sweets, but I do not overly indulge in them) TIA!!

Not everyone gains weight. I eat pretty healthy, well a lot of tuna & protein, and I can't digest carbs or milk so I stay away from them. Also I do have sweets, but maybe 1-2 times a week.

I am 5'3 and weigh 102 lbs, I had my thyroid removed almost 20 yrs ago.

Well without a thyroid, you must regulate the thyroid level with medication.

Thyroid in turn is like the thorottle that tells how fast your car engine runs. That is that it establishes a large part of your body's motabolism.

So from this yuo can see if you do not have enough thyroid, your body's metabilism is slow and people tend to gain weight. This is why hypothyroidism patents typically pack on the pounds.

So the issue is when the thyroid is no longer there. You are dependant to obtain the proper thyroid level by medication. As a general rule this is done by staring out with low doses and working your way up to optimized. Which is a slow process.  What that likely means is that for a period of time, you may not get enough medication dosage.  And as a result likely to gain weight.  However as the dosage is increased and you approach or reach optimization level. The weight MAY come off, or at least you'll be able to loose weight easier.

Many people my wife included have found it essentially and completely impossible to loose weight more than a few pounds while still being hypo and below optimization.  She is still holding out hope that the Dr will continue to raise her meds and hopefully hit that magic point where she is able to loose and keep the weight down and be optimized dosage.

Don't know if I answered your question or not.  Probably not what you wanted to hear. But I think you can likely expect that your weight may get worse in the short term before it gets better.

Others may have different opinion.
