That time of the month question...

So... I was wanting to know if anyone else is experiencing that their periods are coming earlier and earlier each month? After having my TT in March, I got my period around the 28th of each month before my surgery and then April it came on the 24th and May it came the 21st and this month the 17th... Is this normal? I know my body is going through alot considering it has no thyroid anymore and adjusting the meds, but just wanted to know if it will ever go back to its 28-30 day cycles.

Hope the OB gives you some answers.

Having a TT will put you permanently under the umbrella of hypo.  At least that's what I've been told.  What a drag, huh (drag...no pun intended).

Take care.

I hope they give you some answers.  I think all my doctors - except the surgeon - (funny, I had 1 doc before April and had only seen him one time last year, and now I have seen 4 and going to a 5th next week) have instructed the receptionists to just brush me off!

Saying a prayer that the 5th may be the charm!

Oh, I have been e-mailing my OB's nurse (we do their med mal cases) so they are charting my progress b/c of the period trouble, but he says this is not his area of expertise.  I am supposed to go see him next month at the first sign of the monthly 3 week breast swelling and tenderness.  Ain't life grand!

I promise, I was not this mess of problems before March of 2008, I swear.  I could finish a thought, never hurt and was 12 lbs lighter.

Hum.  Are you seeing your dr soon?  According to the books I have, increased mentrual is a symptom of hypo.

Perhaps the meds do need another look.

Actually its getting heavier. Lasting 4-5 days and coming every 3.5 weeks. The meds are doing good for me, but I did just up the dose last week.

I guess the meds might have a say in all this too, huh?

I don't think I'd make a specific call to the dr about that.  But if you're going there anyway, I'd mention it.  However, if it develops into a pattern, I'd make a specific call.

Rereading your orginal post, I say give it another month or so.

Also, if it's getting lighter or heavier, I'd make note of that too.

I know you've mentioned having experiences with the med.  Is that going better on other fronts?  If so, that's sounds like it would be positive on this issue too.

Should I inform my Endo or OB?

Mine got thrown off after surgery too.  It did straighten out after a bit.  The same thing happened after my second surgery (gallbladder).

You definitely want to let a dr know if your cycle continues to be too short; too long; erratic; etc.

Take care.

I am hypo and I am experiencing the same thing.  And my last period was very light and they last only about 3 days.  I have been having more of these symptoms the last 3 months, that is when I began feeling worse.
