Throid surgery- recovery time?

I am seeing a surgeon about removing a follicular nodule from my thyroid ASAP.  Naturally I am hoping it is benign- so if that's the case then how long do you think I might need off work?  I am a teacher so will need my voice. I am also having my gallbladder out (hopefully at the same time!)
Just trying to get my head around it all,
Em

I have had 2 routine thyroid surgeries over the past summer and didn't need more than a week off after each surgery. I don't know about the gallbladder though. I voice felt "weak" (I don't know how else to describe it) for several weeks after but I was able to talk. I was told that it sounded strained at times.

It's a lot to take in, I know.

Good luck!

Thanks...  LOL! Sexy voice huh?  That sounds like a long time off work.  Hmmm... better plan for longer than I thought.

Hi - I had a fairly tramatic thyroidectomy at end of June. I have been back at work 1 month. I am a Community nurse and am talking all time and by end of the day I sound like I have a bad case of tonsilitis with my voice getting quite weak - but I,m told I sound quite sexy - if that's a consilation!!!
