HI! i'm 27 have been detected with Thyroid for nearly a yr now. Have been on meds. My problem is that i just can't seem to sustain my weight. I keep losing weight. i get emotional easily, depressed, tired. Someone please tell me how to put on weight. i'm supposed to get married this summer, i don't want to look like an anorexic bride!!!!!!!
I had a node swollen for eight weeks from the time i noticed it until the time it was removed for a biopsy. It swelled up when my neck was so full I felt like I was being choked from the inside. The choking feeling subsided for a while, but the last couple of days has returned, although not as drastic. I just feel like someone is holding their finger across my lower neck all day and night!!
Anyway, I'm not actually a thyroid patient, I had one tsh and it was normal, I just have what feels like a pebble in thyroid area and fullness in neck. But I have read lymph nodes can swell with thyroid problems. Many posts on here mention them, just keep reading. But if it worries you, get one biopsied for your own peace of mind. I would just to assure yourself you're okay.
Hello. I am newly diagnosed for hashimoto thyroiditis and not on meds yet. My lymph nodes have been swollen and tender for almost two years and the Dr. could never tell me why till I had a PT 5-23-07 for a large marble size calcified tumor and was told I had Hashi. My white blood cell count was also high and was told the same thing caused from Hashi. Dr. also told me the nodes could stay enlarged and tender for a long time and like Shaerich mention may never go back to regular size. . He said not much they can do about that. If you are uncomfortable get a 2nd opinion by all means. If you find out they can treat the nodes please be sure to pass it on to me.. Thanks..
Jean
I don't know about the relationship of lymphnodes to thyroid in your situation, but I can tell you that when lymphnodes do swell (for whatever reason) it can take weeks to months to go back to normal size... and if they've swollen so much they've caused scarring, they may never go back to regular size. I had Mono at 19 and could feel one particular node for years afterward.
What would concern me more is that they're sore. I know others here will have great input for you on that aspect.
