Thyroid /vertigo relationship

My thyroid is enlarged twice the size, my Enco Dr says its just greedy, he didnt treat me or it, though my hair falls out and is thinning, I have gained weight the past years and my skin is very dry and I do use fish oil capsules and drink plenty of water too. He just pushed me off as if I was ok. My tests came back normal range. This was almost a year ago I am taking a new lab test next week, my problem is I have had 2 BAD bouts of vertigo. The first one lasted 3 weeks!! I couldnt get out of bed to go to the dr, I called my pharmacy and she told me to try Bonine, it worked good enough for me to get to the Dr. she wrote me out a script for the same thing that is in Bonine, so I filled it, guess what? IT DIDNT DO SQUAT!! I went back to taking the over the counter Bonine, blue box amazing stuff!!! I took one every 4 hours in stead of 2 every 8, I had to becareful still but for a few hours each 4 hours I could do something like carefully shower sitting down or feed my pets or fix soup.  I am so scared of my stairs and falling. When I first came down with it I tossed my waist long hair out of my face while walking into my bathroom, I was thrown like a bag of bricks to the floor thank GOD I didnt crash my head, thats how it started. I have since cut my hair and keep it up as much as I can I cant risk that happening again. I did wake up 2 months later with it again.. lasted 5 days thank GOD I keep my Bonine by my bed now.  I am in my early 50s anyones dr tell them Thyroid /vertigo relationship is real? Thanks! God Bless

I was just diagnosed with vertigo on Wednesday and had asked if there was any possible connection to the thyroid because of my mother (we always knew when she didn't take her "anti-crash" meds as we called them). The doctor said, No, but I wonder. I really, really wonder. I'm on ceclizine, and now on the third dosage. I just don't know if this is the right stuff for me or not. considering getting a second opinion.

I too suffer from vertigo/constant lightheadness and disequilibrium.  My endo has told me that all are related to the thyroid.  I just hope it gets better after my thyroid stabalizes.  It is no fun walking around feeling like you have had too much to drink or watching the room spin around on me.  What is Bonnie?

Many doctors told me they were not related - but I did find my most recent doctor confirm they are connected.

I don't know why doctors can't put this stuff together. Our bodies works as one machine - but doctors seem to pick everything apart that treat one thing at a time.

I always "knew" my veritgo was related to thyroid. I was never sure though if it is related to the meds - or a non functioning gland.

I think it's both to a degree,.
