I had the rest of my Thyroid took out in January due to cancer and currently taking a 100 mg of Levoxyl. My dose had to be changed to 150. My prescription says thyroxine, T/d under it & #30. Is this the same thing as Levoxyl. I rather take the name brand as I have been and not a generic. If it is generic, can I tell the pharmacist that I want the name brand?
I think it is generic. You may have to call your doctor and tell them to re write the script for Synthroid - or Levoxyl.
Sometimes the pharmacy will not change the script back to the name brand stuff per - doctors script he submitted
Always make sure when getting a new script - of anything (if you want name brand) - is to tell your physician to write "No substitutes" on the actual script you will be taking to the pharmacy.
Or make sure if it is called in - to tell them to say that too.
