Thyroid Problems

Hey everyone!

i have this continuous nervous feeling, as if i am always on edge (this feeling doesn't change in public or when im at home alone). i dont suffer from panic attacks at all.

my doctor says im suffering from hypothyroidism, according to my test results and this could be causing the generalized anxious feeling, i am suffering from fatigue as a result of these symptoms. the problem is that i seem to have certain symptoms of hyperthyroidism ie sweating easily and slightly swallon thyroid gland.

Please help! if someone could give me some advice about these symptoms, it would make my day

Regards

Desperate Aussie

If you don't mind my asking, what was your TSH upon being diagnosed?

You are welcome. Last summer I also felt like I was losing MY mind!
I though my symptoms wer contradictory, too. Turns out, they can overlap, but most aren't willing to say so.

Fell better soon.

Cheers heaps for the comment that makes me feel heaps better. I thought i was losing my mind... when reading about hyperthyroidism, thinking that was the actual problem, due to having that constant anxious feeling like im always in a rush even when im not and also sweating easy.

I have also felt the way you do now. The meds will help. I am so glad your doctor aknowledged that anxiety can come with being hypo. Just knowing that is a help.

The hyper feelings are probably part of the anxiety feeling.  I know when I have anxiety attacks I get those exact symptoms.  Just because your gland is swollen doesn't signify hyperthyroidism.  Mine is enlarged and I am hypo.  I have the symptoms you are experiencing as well, fatigue, generalized anxiety, etc.  Hope you feel better soon.  There may be others on this sight with more advice.  I am new at this.  Prayers Jessi
