Hello All,
I am brand new to this forum. I joined because I was concerned about some information I received last week. I went into my primary care doctor for some routine tests, she got the test back and called me and said that my TSH was very low or suppressed. My question is, it was the very day BEFORE I started my period. I started that the very next morning. Would that have ANYthing to do with the TSH being low or suppressed? Meaning if I took the test again, not so close to my menstrual cycle, that the test my show something different?
Also, the only other thing I can think of is that I have been taking Raw organic coconut oil (for regulating hormones naturally) since I will be 40 and it seems my hormones might be out of wack and I have also read online that this can affect your Thyroid. I have been taking it for about 2 months. I have no idea if either the period for the oil has anything at all to do with it, so I thought I would ask. I am scheduled to see an endocrinologist, but they could not get me in until August. :-( I am very concerned and can't help but worry. I have been healthy all my life, but suspected I might have a thyroid problem because no matter how much I diet and exercise I can not lose weight. But I was told that if the TSH is suppressed, this could mean hypERthryroidism could come down the line. Thanks for any help and assurance you might offer. I really appreciate it!
Sincerely,
Julie
