Thyroid Test Result

by Aaryn, Jul 13, 2007 02:24PM
Hi,

Hoping someone can help me out - I`ve been feeling very tired so my MD tested my thyrroid. He faxed over the results (with no explanation) and is now gone for the w-e...

The results read that the range should be 0.27-4.2. My results are 0.87. Even though I am on the low end of the range does this mean there is no issue with my thyroid?

Your help and advice are much apppreciated!

Was this a TSH reading? If so, 0.87 sounds like a very good reading, but I've heard that you can still have thyroid problems with a normal TSH. You might want to have antibody testing done. That's what I'm hoping to do.

Antibodies are untreatable. They test your TSH because that's the number they treat. You can have the antibodies, but if your TSH  is .87 you don't need it corrected.
