Thyroid US results

I just received results from a follow up thyroid ultrasound.  All my nodules on the right came back as heterogeneous hypoechoic.  Two of these were small and one was long and skinny.  I have a large one on the left which stated to have small cystic areas within and peripheral flow noted on Doppler.  I also now have a right neck lymph node superior and lateral to the thyroid gland measuring 1.6 x 0.6 x 1.6 cm that was not noted on the first US.  Is this cause for alarm?

Thanks for the info.  I discuss the results with my doctor on Friday.  Unfortunately, having time to research the report on the internet has made me a little nervous!

Peripheral flow noted on Doppler is usually a good sign, however abnormal lymph node combined with hypoechoic nodules on the same side requires biopsy to rule out cancer (about 20% chance) it is very good idea to take sample from lymph node itself. As alternative (or complimentary) to this a newer type of ultrasound can be used to accurately predict the chance of cancer.
