Recently had labs done 01-25-17. All labs came back normal, except TSH was a bit high - 5.8
My PCP referred me to an ENT
ENT ordered complete thyroid panel.. all tests can back normal including TSH, T4, T3, antibodies, etc.
He also ordered a Thyroid Ultrasound
Results came back as follows:
Right thyroid lobe measures 4.4x1.4x1.6cm
Left thyroid lobe measures 4.1x1.2x1.8cm
Both lobes demonstrate diffuse mild heterogeneity, with several scattered tiny cystic nodules which measure less than 3mm in size. No dominant solid thyroid nodule or mass.
Impression: Bilateral thyroid tiny cystic nodules.
No dominant solid nodule demonstrated.
My question:
Should I be concerned about the cystic nodules?
Will they shrink on their own?
What are possible causes?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
