Thyroid Ultrasound

I had an ultrasound of my thyroid done today and the report reads:
The right lobe is approx 5.0 x 1.9 x 1.7cm and the left approx 4.9 x 1.8 x 1.7 cm.  The gland is lobular in contour and is moderately prominently and diffusely inhomogeneous.  There were no focal, well defined solid or cystic nodules in either lobe or the isthmus.

I am currently taking synthyroid 112mcg daily and cytomel 5mcg twice daily.
What does exactly this mean???

Have you been tested for Hashimoto's. I just had my thyroid removed for this and the whole gland was hard as a rock, per my surgeon.  she said its common for a Hashimotos gland to become hardened.  I am soooo glad I had my surgery.  Just trying to get my meds right, but everyone says its much easier to get meds right after the gland is out.  Wishing you luck.

Just means you have no nodules/lumps that are of concern.  Looks good, nodules have to be watched.
