Thyroid and Tonsilitis

Hi, My Name is Gaurav. I am 35years of age. Recently i undergo few tests and found that my TSH level is 12.020. I went to doc and been asked to go for FT3 and FT4. Also he told me to start thyronorm - 25mg. Today i got the report which says T3, Free, FT3, SERUM @ 2.48 pq/mL and T4, Free, FT4, SERUM @ 1.29 nq/dL. Since last few years i have put on a lot weight and also feeling very lethargic. Past one years i have been suffered by acute tonssilitis. My question is : 1) What does TSH / FT3 and FT4 in my report suggest? 2) Is tonssilitis relate to Thyroid in any way ?

We need to know the reference ranges for the Free T3 and Free T4.  Ranges vary from lab to lab, so have to come from your own report.

Your FT3 and FT4 do seem pretty low, which would be consistent with the elevated TSH, but, of course, that does depend on the ranges.

It's unlikely that the tonsillitis is related to the thyroid issue, but anything is possible.  If your thyroid is swollen/inflamed, it could "feel" like tonsillitis. When my thyroid was swollen/inflamed, I felt like I was choking all the time.
