Thyroid and heat

Does your thyroid / goiter swell when you are outside in the heat for long periods of time?

sorry never had that one. does yours swell only in the heat or is it swelling in general

my goiter swelled after a family trip during hot weather.  at time, did not know i was hypothyroid.  i did not make a connection untill i read your post.  i remember it being in the upper 90's. and i went to er a few days later with a painful goiter. unfortunately, i was not diagnosed properly. anyone else experience this?

Well - the goiter swells in general, never getting back to original size (ie - before I knew it was there) and makes my whole neck tight, but, I have noticed that it get bigger than usual after sitting outside in the 100 degree weather we are having.  (Gotta love the Louisiana heat).  After a day in the heat, it does get a little funny prickly feeling, but that part goes away after cooling off for a couple of hours.  It also swells when I am cleaning, mowing, etc, basically when I am active.
