Oh, honey, I'm so sorry.  That is a really high TSH so I don't even know how you're getting out of bed!  I'm impressed.  Instead of 94.0 it should be down around 1.0.  BIG difference.  You are severely hypothyroid.

This makes everything hurt!  Yes, even your teeth.  I swear at 56 the ends of my hair hurt.  As your TSH comes down you will start to feel better.  After you get down to where you should be you will feel a lot better, but it will take your body time to heal from the damage this has done.  Hopefully it hasn't been very long and the healing time will be minimal.

Has your dr said what caused this?  Have they sent you to or made you an appt with an endocrinologist?  You need one that specializes in thyroid and not diabetes.  Something is wrong and needs to be addressed, not just the numbers.

Good luck and I hope you get relief soon.

Please, please get to an endocrinologist.  Have you had any labs run?  Do you have the results with the ranges?  Did you get a *thyroid* ultrasound?  If so, what were the results.

Often after pregnancy the thyroid levels will need to be changes.

Thyroid conditions don't "just go away with medicine" - the meds may help suppress them but I don't think there is one person on this board who will say they feel as good (or the same) as they did before thyroid problems.

You really need a good endocrinologist.

When you go you make sure to get lots of answers.  And talk to the dr about an endocrinologist.  Something is really wrong with you for your numbers to be that high.

My Graves' Disease, which is hyperthyroidism, came about after a difficult pregnancy with my son.  Stress brings on a lot of thyroid issues.  Make sure they are on top of it.

Good luck tomorrow and let us know what you find out.  Get copies of your test results and post them and we'll have a better idea of what's going on with you.

My doctor also said i have antibodies 2400 and normal is like 34.What is that? i will talk with him about seeing an endocrinologist.

by DLA, Jan 10, 2008 11:37PM
Probably Hashimoto's Thyroiditis.  It means those 2,400 bad antibodies are attacking your thyroid and trying to kill it.  That's my guess, he can explain all of it to you tomorrow.  Try not to worry too much.  Everything will be alright.

Ok.. i just want to feel good and play with my baby. thank you again i will post more tomorrow.

Ok my TSH is 90.00
Free T4 is .93
Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) AB is 2113 h
The doctor said it is most likely  Hashimoto's Thyroiditis but we only have a few endocrinologist in the area and they request that the pcp's have there people on medicine for at leaset 2 mos, then they will see them.

You need to see an endocrinologist.  This is not something your PCP can treat.  I was just diagnosised with hashimotos after a pregnancy.  I had to go almost an hour from home to see an endo.  Look around and find you one.  Please, for your sanity, for your health and your baby.

i think i will just given them a call on monday and see that they say thanks.

I agree, you need an endo now, not 2 months from now.  That 90 is high and is doing damage to your body.  I'd find an endo some where.  If it makes you feel any better I live 1 1/2 hrs from my endo.
