Thyroid confussion

I have been loosing my hair now for the past 2yrs. in just happened all of a sudden. My hair has also become very dry, brittle, grey(also my pubic hair) and lifeless complete texture change...i also have a slow heart beat, colder then normal, headaches, jointpain, bloating, periods irregular, and just feeling tired but i manage...I had every test done. My thyroid antibodies were high 42 a year ago ans now 58..though my tsh,FreeT4 and FreeT3 were all considered to be normal.  I had a saliva test done and the dr. said that i was glten intolerant.I'm not sure if this is correct, i have cut gluten out of my diet now for over 2 weeks and have these stomach pain still.  i get these pain weather i eat or not.. Can thyroid antibodies cause these symptoms also and should i have my throid treated or just stay misserable intil i can't take it anymore and go bald...i'm only 34yrs. this all started when i was 32..some advice would help..thank you

Get the expensive thorough thyroid test done by an Endo. Doctor. Also know that thyroid disease has many facets.  Causes many symptoms.  You may want to Google Fibromyalgia and other auto-immune diseases to check symptoms.  Thyroid symptoms mimic many other illness'.  Good luck .  See a Ruematologist for Fibromyalgia if you have those signs.

yes, i do understand and i have had every blodd test possible and have been on all of the hair loss pills...nothing worked!!! i truely think it's my thyroid!!  i don't get sick when i eat pasta and stuff i don't really get sick at all, and my hair loss is difussed not clumps.  it is also turning grey, lifeless and brittle..which is also a thyroid sign..i really don't think it's female hairloss i was on propecia, aldactone, hair vit.  you name it did nothing...my blood test don't indicate female hairloss either everything is fine?  So i need to figure out what is really wrong?  not just go on a diet that is not really helping..Yes, i did change and check everything.  i seem to get more bloated when i eat the gluten free food then i ever did before..

alopecia (rapid and unexplained baldness) is an autoimmune disease just like celiac's is.  oftentimes autoimmune diseases crop up together, so it's possible you are developing alopecia if your hair is falling out quickly and in clumps.  i have no idea whom to recommend to you for an official diagnosis, but i'd start with your PCP and go from there.  then again, certain nutrient deficiencies can also affect your hair growth and longevity, so you may want to begin taking a multivitamin (check it for gluten first, though.  make sure it specifically says gluten free on the bottle!)

i am a nutritionist so i know a good deal about how to manage your gluten intolerance.  my first question to you is... are you REALLY eliminating all gluten from your diet??  i mean.....  really??  have you stopped licking stamps (can contain gluten, i've heard!) and checked your toothpaste and mouthwash?  have you read the back of EVERY single label on EVERY single food and candy you eat?  have you checked your lipgloss?  have you pretty much stopped going out to eat or ordering take out?

i can tell you...  it's not good enough to just eat foods that have no wheat flour in them.  you need to be rigorous, vigilant, and untrusting of every single bite you put into your mouth.  even a small amount will continue to do damage to your microvilli in your small intestine, reducing your ablilty to effectively break down and process nutrients during digestion.

celiac's disease is a hard pill to swallow.  i am actually getting tested for it tomorrow, so i know what it's like to face a possible diagnosis.  even the slightest slipup can leave you feeling poorly again, so please check everything double and triple as hard as you have been.  make sure you know the hidden sources of gluten and avoid them at all cost!  if necessary, call the company 1-800 numbers to check about gluten in the products you buy.  a good customer service rep should be able to tell you for sure whether the products are safe or not.
