Thyroid disorders hereditary? Is this associated with pancreatitis?

Okay, I was wondering because a friend of mine has shown symptoms of hyperthyroidism, after I had done some research, and I plan on urging them to get this checked out. I also know that this person's father has pancreatitis. I read that thyroid disorders can be hereditary. Do you think that this has anything to do with the possible hyperthyroidism, the association between pancreatitis and thyroid disorders? I can't find much about it. And are thyroid disorders linked with diabetes? Is pancreatitis linked with diabetes as well?

Thank you for your time, I appreciate it.

my 16yr old just had her gallbladder removed after 8 very long days in the hosp. figuring out what was wrong!  It was only functioning 4%!!  They ck'd blood for pancreatitis back in Oct and was normal along with normal ultrasounds (3 of them) .. GB was dysfunctional and chronic inflammation according to path report and only 16yrs old .. they say it is hereditary what she had and mine should be like hers, too, when I finally get mine out (been bad about it and I have true stones but asymptomatic for awhile now).

So I don't know the answer ..... her thyroid is ok the last we know .... not sure it helps the orig poster but wanted to say hello.

I am a 29 yr old female.  In 2005 my gallbladder was removed.  The doctors said it was inflamed but there were no stones and no other explanation.  Then, I had Pancreatitis about a year ago due to high Triglycerides.  At the time, the doctors were checking me for diabetes because I guess those things are related.  Generally Pancreatitis is caused by gallstones or excessive drinking.  I am not an excessive drinker and by then my gallbladder had been removed.  I just went for a follow-up this afternoon and now my doc wants to check my Thyroid.  So, I guess all of that stuff can be related.
