Your test results for TPO ab and TG ab confirm Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. Your test results for Free T4 were slightly below recommended level, at 43% of its range, Your Free T3 was at 77 % of its range. Room for increases, but nothing that stands out as a big hypothyroid issue.
At this time, I would recommend tests in other areas. Specifically, I suggest that you get tested again for Free T3 and add Reverse T3 also, so that we can calculate the FT3 to RT3 ratio. . Additionally, Vitamin D, B12 and ferritin are frequently too low in hypothyroid patients and can cause symptoms as well as affect metabolism of thyroid hormone. S should be about 55-60, B12 in the very upper end of its range, and ferritin should be about 70 min. Once you get those tested we will be happy to help interpret and advise further.
The blood work was this month. I didn't take any meds until after my blood work was completed. I have been on 150 since Feb,
Another thing that came to mind is whether you take your med the morning before the blood draw for tests. Also, please confirm that those blood test results were done when you had been on the 150 mcg of Erfa.
I was splitting them into 3 in the am and 2 in the pm. But I felt like crap. So i take all 5 at 8am. I was feeling better within the first 2 days. But now I feel tired again- like Im crashing. Then in a day or 2 Ill feel awesome again. It's like a vicious cycle. lol Everything I've researched comes back to Hashimotos. Up until I had my twins in Sept 2006 - my thyroid was working normal. In early 2007 is when I noticed it was starting to change.
I have difficulty focusing on one task. Forgetfulness,,
Change in bowel habits.(I also have coliltis & IBS.) heart palpitations. Anxiety or nervous.Weight loss. Menstrual problems- I had a hysterectomy in Feb because of my off cycles- 2 weeks on 2 weeks off. And Im tired most of the time.
I saw the photo data. I was asking about your TSH at the time of original diagnosis. If it was high at that time then it would be consistent with having Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, as shown by the high results for antibodies.
Then your current low TSH result would be expected from taking thyroid med. TSH is frequently suppressed below range when taking adequate doses of thyroid meds. That does not mean you are automatically hyperthyroid, unless you have hyper symptoms, as I described. I see no cause to suspect a pituitary gland tumor at this point.
Why are you splitting the Erfa into 5 doses?
My blood work results are attached- the photo. I take 5 x 30mg Erfa a day. I had another blood test done for the TSH- it was the exact same.
What was your TSH at the time you started on Erfa Thyroid? If it was high at that time, it is far more likely that you had primary hypothyroid. If your TSH was high to start and now it is low that is due to the suppression I mentioned that occurs frequently when taking adequate doses of thyroid meds.
What dose of Erfa are you taking daily?
Is sounds like you still have hypo symptoms due to inadequate dosage of meds. What are your Free T4 and free T3 levels? If not tested for those you should make sure they test them every time you go in for followup tests. Also, hypo patients are frequently too low in the ranges for Vitamin D, B12 and ferritin. If not tested for those, you should request them as well. I hope this reaches you before your appointment so that you can request all these tests.
I was splitting my dose- 3 in the am and 2 in the pm. It felt like I would crash every few weeks. I couldn't keep my eyes open. I started taking them all at once in the am over a week ago. My fogginess is gone. I can stay awake and I've earned the tiredness at bedtime. Its a totally different feeling- the tiredness compared to exhaustion. I have an app. with my dr this afternoon. She says she thinks I have a pituitary gland tumor with the low level of TSH. I took another TSH test last week just to make sure it's not a fluke. I do have other symptoms that I never had before. My neck hurts. Feels like spasms that come and go. And stays achy for a few hours then goes away for a few days. Any ideas?
TSH frequently becomes suppressed when taking adequate doses of thyroid meds. That does not mean hyperthyroidism, unless there are accompanying hyper symptoms, due to excessive levels of Free T4 and Free T3. Your Free T4 and Free T3 are fine, so the question is whether you have hyper symptoms or not. By the way there are scientific studies that confirm what I say about suppressed TSH.
