Thyroid levels

by d022767, Apr 08, 2009 10:12PM
I am 4 months post op of total thyroidectomy....am on 100 mcg of Synthroid...today my bloodwork came back on the very high end of normal (TSH/T3/T4).  My endo put me on 5 mcg of Cytomel daily that I will start tomorrow and to continue the 100 mcg of Synthroid.  He said that this would work better to bring my levels down.  I feel better when my TSH is on the very low end of normal.  Right now I am constantly tired/moody/cold/and gaining weight.  Can anyone tell me what to expect with the addition of Cytomel and if it has worked for them.  I know this is all a wait and see process.  I am also having heart palps but my endo seems to think that is stress and anxiety because all of my bloodwork shows me as hypo.  What are the side effects of the Cytomel and what should I expect...????

Hi,  I don't have Cytomel experience but I am hoping this helps you feel better soon!  THat anxiety is the worst feeling coupled with hypo .

WELCOME!
